31 October to 3 November – A (Scary) Gathering of Scarecrows
On the 31st of October (7:30pm to 9pm), make a scary Scarecrow to go on display for a Halloween Night at Hamilton Gardens. Entry forms available at Hamilton Gardens Information Centre, Hamilton Libraries, or click here to download.
Follow a scary trail to the Kitchen garden to view the gathering of scary scarecrows! Come dressed in costume to enjoy this event. Then return on Sunday 3rd November (11am to 3pm) to vote for your favourite scarecrow.

16 November – Hydr8 Zero: David vs Goliath
Claudelands Arena will host the boxing match of the year when power-puncher David Tua takes on Goliath-sized Russian boxer Alexander Ustinov for the WBA Pan African Heavyweight Title on Saturday 16 November.
Experience the action ringside for this much anticipated comeback by Tua, who has undergone a brutal 6-month training camp with Lee Parore. There will be no mucking about with tune-up fights, instead Tua will take on the IBF world number seven ranked Alexander Ustinov, who stands at 6 ft 8 inches tall.

25 November – Charley Pride

29 November to 1 December – Bridge to Bridge Water Ski Classic
The 2013 Bridge to Bridge Water Ski Classic celebrates 30 years of extreme water sports on the Waikato River this November. The event starts on Friday night with a Show n Shine in Hood Street where the best ski racing boats in the country will be on display.
Make a weekend of it and come watch spectacular boat and water ski racing with boats from all over New Zealand and Australia competing.

Exscite is an interactive science gallery which combines learning with fun. Play a tune on the musical pipes, discover the Jackson Pollock inspired interactive paintng game and race your friends on the Mario Karts. New interactives are regularly added to Exscite’s old favourites. Entry to Exscite includes The Mighty River Waikato: From Hinaki to Hydropower exhibition – an expereince not to be missed!
Ngaa Pou Whenua [Free Admission]
Ngaa Pou Whenua is a modern story of the four iwi of Tainui – Waikato, Pare Hauraki, Raukawa and Maniapoto. From the mouth of the Waikato River, to the plains of Hauraki; the rolling hills of Raukawa and the valleys of Maniapoto. Ngaa Pou Whenua is an exhibition of Tainui people and Tainui lands, exploring identity and belonging. See the taonga, listen to the waiata, watch the movie and touch the whakairo, nau mai, haere mai. Join us as Waikato, Pare Hauraki, Raukawa and Maniapoto tell us a story of the land, the people and the dream.

Never A Dull Moment! Hamilton Series [Free Admission]
Never a Dull Moment!Hamilton stories is a local history exhibition which takes a fresh look at our citie’s past, and moves history exhibitions beyond simply old stuff in cases. It’s a quirky, thought-provoking and very entertaining experience. The show focuses on four themes that cover the period 1864-1945, and key events and personalities from those years. But this is no time line. Imagine portraits that come to life, listen in on town gossip, and settle into a cinema to find out all about Hamilton’s past. Perhaps you’d like to spin the settler ‘wheel of fortune’, or take home a recipe from a war time cook book. Economy cake, anyone?
